The Scramble

The monthly scramble was played at the Phoenix Gold country club, the day was fine and warm but no rain at all. The course is in great condition and there could be no complaints for any reason at all. We had six groups playing and the scoring was very close as in there wasn’t a team out there that couldn’t have been in the prizes with just one lucky putt or chip, when four players putt and all four lip the cup it doesn’t help much. Taking second place on a count back was Team Bowles, Keith, Frank, Steve and John with a net score of 59.9. The leading group Team Skip, Auke Engelkes, Malcolm Adamson, Michael Collins and Skip Jefferies with 59.9 also but having the slightly better back 6 holes. Every other team scored 61 point something.
