The Poppy day

The annual Poppy Day golf tournament was held at Pattana golf club and resort, the day was run by George Barrie and Kevin Wild both founder members of the Royal British Legion and a sterling job was done by them both, unfortunately the weather and management of Pattana didn’t combine to make the day the success it deserved to be. After playing nine holes we then had to wait for over an hour before we could play the back nine holes and then the weather took charge and the siren went off so it was back to the club house then home for most of the guys, or back to the bar for a few coldies it was then decided to make it a nine hole competition and serve the food along with the presentation at the Billabong Resort. The day was won by Todd Givens and Craig Blacklock with a net score of 25.8 and that is one hell of a score. A large thank you to all the sponsors and golfers who came along for the day and enjoyed themselves.
