Sauna like at Phoenix

Phoenix for our monthly scramble and with 11 groups taking part the first group teeing off at 8.32, apart from it being extremely hot it turned into a good day out for all. The greens were a bit inconsistent from the Mountain loop to the Lakes but with 4 players having a go at the putt there can be no excuses. There were a lot of groups in the 60s and only three teams played better than 60 nett the scoring was very close between 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Team Billabong A, Sandy, Sasicha, May and Bill Marsden scored a net 59.2 to take 3rd spot, 2nd went to the Courtyard Cavaliers Geoff Couch, Helmut Hebstriet, Chris Brendall and Jeff North scoring a net 59 and at last the Valley Hackers managed the top spot after taking 3rd for about the last 3 months, they had a secret weapon today in Don Hachey who was dropping putts from everywhere their score of 58.7 was good enough. Well done all the teams for competing in the event for making it such a success.
