Phoenix in grand condition

With 6 groups playing at the Phoenix Gold country club, for a change it wasn’t packed out and made for a pleasant day for golf. The course was in great condition with greens from one nine not quite as fast as the other but you just had to get used to it. John Locke had his last game today, he is away back home until his next visit in about 6 months bob voyage mate. Now the scoring today was unbelievable, when 37 points doesn’t get a mention and 38 gets beaten on a count back say’s something about the talent out there today. Brian Scott took 4th place with 38 points him beating Paul Greenaway on a count back having 20 points on the back to Paul’s 19, 3rd place went to Thiery Petrement with 42 points another count back was required between Julie Battersby also 42 points but with once again a better score on the back nine so Julie took 2nd spot, now we come to the little French General Gerard Lambert scoring a whopping 25 points on the front nine but could only manage 18 on the back to record 43 points and take the top spot. There were six two’s coming from Lloyd Shuttleworth, Paul Greenaway, Dave Kellerway, Gerard Lambert, Julie Battersby and Thiery Temime.

Phoenix Gold today, the course was in great condition as usual and quite busy with a steady flow of golfers all around the course. With four groups playing it was quite a fast round with no holdups at
