Phoenix Gold

Mountain and Ocean loops at Phoenix Gold golf course and they are in fantastic condition to play on. The Lakes nine will be open this month we are told so it will be a change to see how it stacks up after being closed for 18 months or so. With four groups playing it got to be a very quick round with no holdups at all. We had a couple of visitors that hadn’t played for quite a while it was an entertaining day out for the Cripple and the lads as one golfer was one over the card on the back nine before the wheels fell off having an 8 on the par four 17th and a double bogie on 18 to bring him back to earth. We had one man in the field who had his day in the sun, but we will start with 3rd place Frank Ward had 35 points to take that place, 2nd place went to Malcolm Adamson with 36 points and Craig Wildman took the top spot with a fine 43 points and got the only two of the day.
