Phoenix Gold in beautiful condition with extremely fast greens that were true if you hit the middle of the hole a fraction of an inch away and it would slide past. The lakes loop is nearly ready to open for a little bit more variety so look forward to a game on there in the next month or so. There only three groups today as some people were suffering from the effects of too much xmas cheer but we all got round in pretty quick time with no holdups at all. The one day when we could have used winter rules and we didn’t use it and there was mud on the ball on every shot, but it didn’t affect the scoring. Mickey Palmer took third place with 36 points, Brian Jacks took second with 37 points and Captain Cripple took first with 38 points, I must tell you he got a birdy on the tenth hole by using a five wood for his second shot from around 140 yards out any normal golfer would be using an 7 or 8 iron from the distance but not the Cripple.
