Phoenix Mountain and Ocean loops on a day threatening with rain that didn’t eventuate, although a very hot day ensued with no holdups we were finished in 3 hours 15 minutes. The course was in fantastic condition with the tractors now being able to get on the course proper they have managed to cut the rough so it is not unplayable, and now it’s not that big a worry if you miss the short grass. Although hot it was an enjoyable day out, I’m not sure where the golfers have disappeared to now the showers and locker rooms are open you can get cleaned up before going home or to the restaurant for something to eat, whist there is no alcohol in the restaurant the food is still delicious and the staff very friendly. With 10 golfers playing the scoring was quite good, Bill Marsden scored 36 points and Glyn Davies the same and would have been the winner had a tournament been played. The rest were in the 30s apart from Captain Cripple who couldn’t make the grade.
