Phoenix on a very hot day with busloads of players the course was once again jammed to the rafters, but thanks to the staff and management everything just flowed along. Playing Lakes and Ocean which are in great condition with greens that are fast and true. The scoring was exceptional also with players scoring under handicap not even getting a mention in the prize’s. There was a 3 way count back for 3rd and 4th with Paul Greenaway taking 4th and George Barrie taking 3rd Julie Battersby missing out all on 38 points. Gerard Lambert playing 3 under handicap to shoot 39 points took 2nd but it wasn’t enough Sandy Chapo playing the round of his life shooting 2 bogies and 7 pars on the back nine to score 43 points, a great round mate. There were only two 2s coming from George Barrie and Gilbert our friend from Switzerland.
