It’s an easy dive to Phoenix now past the new course being built by Siam Old course. Really just 20 minutes. The day started out overcast and as we got to the first tee a little shower of rain came but didn’t last long and it turned out great after that. With seven groups playing we a little late getting away because the course was packed but the golf just flowed along, playing Ocean and Mountain loops, playing Ocean first at least give you a chance to warm up before taking on the more difficult Mountain nine which in the scribes opinion would have to be one of the hardest nine holes of golf in this area. The course was in fantastic condition as usual and everyone had a good day out. The scoring was very good with 35 points on a count back going to Glyn Davies to take 5th place, Jerry Grocott took 4th with 37 points, Noddy Moyle took 3rd with 38 on a count, Nadine Goyons took 2nd with 38 also and Julie Battersby had a day in the sun a gross 81 for 43 points to take the top spot, and in that score the young lady had 3 twos, Vaughn Jackson got a two as did Jerry Grocott.
