No Rain today at Phoenix Gold
Phoenix Mountain and Ocean loops and apart from a few of the greens it was in fantastic condition, the Captain who last week made the boys play as it lay this week the lads caught him being a little more generous and we played lift clean and place but it really wasn’t necessary as the course was dry as a bone. With five groups playing we were away a little earlier than our tee time and were well in before any rain came. Captain Cripple was heard to say to his playing partners it wont take me long to drag you lot down to my level and he was correct, the top score in that group was 31 points. Now the scoring today was pretty good with their being a count back for the 4th place between Malcolm Adamson and Alan Bishop and true to form for his 4th time in a row Malcolm lost the count back both scoring 35 points, there was also a count back for the next 2 placing’s between Keith Bowles and Gerard Lambert both scoring 36 points with Gerard taking 3rd place and Keith taking 2nd. Brian Jacks had his day in the sun today scoring a fine 39 points to take the top spot. There were 3 two’s coming from Glyn Davies, Stuart Day and Keith Bowles.
