Green Valley

There is one thing you can guarantee with Thai ladies, they will never miss an opportunity to celebrate something –or anything come to think about it –they are very good at it and that is what was happening when we returned to the Billabong for it was Miss Plae birthday today and we were assailed with a wall of excitement from the party in the ladies room. Unfortunately her happy day was not reflected in her golf today but she was not alone for the overall scores were not overly impressive. Perhaps it was the strong breeze or furry greens. Miss Porn (20) occupied 4th place with 32 points pipped at the post by Miss Thip (15) having one point more for 3rd place. Miss Sasicha (21) had a mixed bag on the back nine not being able to match the 20 points she had on the front, missing out on 1st place by a whisker on 34 points the same score as Miss May (11) surprisingly having a double bogey on the 15th hole par 3 but a better back nine put her into 1st place. Three players in the men’s competition left the rest of the field well behind today all three on 37 points 3 points clear of 4th place Jeff North (10). Selwyn Wegner (14) had a great front nine with seven pars dropping shots on only 2 holes for 22 points but his ball decided not to co-operate after the turn and his 15 points was one short of Barry Copeskate (13) who had 21 points on the front nine but his 16 points had him in 2nd place. Fittingly, Lloyd Shuttleworth (4) who leaves for an extended trip and his last game for a while, recorded a gross 75 which included 11 pars and 2 birdies for 1st place. Only three 2s going to Sandy Chapo and 2 to Lloyd.
