A sweltering day at Phoenix

Phoenix Gold on a very steamy day was it hot out there and was it going to rain, well the answer is yes it was as hot as hades and yes it rained although only the last group got wet coming down the 18th fairway. The course is in excellent condition even after the rain that has fallen, and carts were allowed anywhere. With just three groups playing we were away a little early and apart from some holdups on the back nine everything went as smooth as you could get it. President Tim playing off his very tidy handicap very nearly got a 2 for 5 points on the 16th hole after having hit a superb tee shot and just missed out for his birdy but still scored 3 for 4 points. Captain Cripple now instead of staggering around off the white tee’s has finally succumbed and is now still staggering but now off the silvers, it’s still a sight to see believe me and he takes the pun like always. His score of 40 points today wasn’t good enough to win until his handicap is adjusted accordingly he will not be in the winner’s circle anytime soon. The winner today was out friend Thiery Petrement with a fine score of 38 points, coming second was Tim Knight with a handicap equaling 36 points I won’t reveal his handicap though and coming in third was the lovely Miss Nong with 35 points.
